🚐 Rolling Toward Something Bigger

I’m a veteran.
A writer.
A sound designer.
A builder of communities and stories.

Right now, I’m preparing to drive across the country in support of something rare and necessary: Liberty Walks—a cross-country pilgrimage from Eugene, Oregon to Washington, D.C., rooted in presence, empathy, and reconnection.

This is not a protest.
This is not a political campaign.
This is an offering. A quiet revolution made of footsteps, conversation, and care.

šŸ› ļø What I’m Doing

From July through November 2025, I’ll be the support driver for the walk—navigating the route, helping manage logistics, and making sure the walkers are nourished, safe, and seen.

Let’s be honest: it feels like everything is on fire.

Our trust in each other.
Our attention spans.
Our ability to just… listen.

Liberty Walks is an invitation to remember.
To slow down.
To walk beside someone you’ve never met.
To rebuild community, not through debate, but through breath and shared movement.

Esther Tishman—Zen teacher, COVID chaplain, and the heart behind this walk—said it best:

ā€œWe’re walking to be changed. To meet each other as human beings instead of positions.ā€

🧭 The Route

  • We launch July 4, 2025, from Eugene, OR
  • Cross 146 towns and cities on foot
  • And arrive in Washington, D.C. by winter
  • I’ll be driving the Liberty Runner support vehicle the whole way

šŸ™Œ How You Can Support

This isn’t a broadcast. It’s an invitation.

If you live along the route—or want to help from wherever you are—here’s how:

  • 🄘 Host a meal or offer shelter to walkers along the way
  • šŸ‘£ Join us for a mile or more on foot
  • šŸŽ„ Help share the story of this walk—online or in person
  • šŸ›  Connect us with allies—artists, churches, musicians, neighbors

Or just say hello. That matters too.

šŸ“¬ Stay Connected

I’ll be sending more updates from the road—photos, reflections, behind-the-scenes stories about how we carry each other across a fractured country.

You can reply directly to this note, or follow along here.

I’m grateful to be walking (and driving) toward something real.
